The Challenge

Autumn really enjoys reading the Feeling Feminie Magazine blog, and she found this article there and want's to encourage everyone to join in!

"The Mission & Petition"
"The mission of the Feelin’ Feminine site is simple and it is our hope to ignite a fire that has long been put out. We hope to rekindle the beauty of dressing and looking feminine. While we will encourage modesty of both inward and outward appearance, this design of this site is not that. We want to show you that being feminine in it’s truest and purest form is nothing to be ashamed of and nothing to resent. Feminine is the opposite of masculine, and they are both quite equal but so very different, working together to build and complete the unity of the family."  CLICK ON THE LINK TO READ "THE CHALLENGE!  http://feelinfeminine.com/?page_id=10

Autumn is always trying to encourage me (Mom) to wear dresses, mind you, this is way out of my comfort zone. Not that I don't like them, I just like them better on someone else! She has challenged me to wear only dresses for a week, she thinks it will be great fun, and a great experience!  So in my quest to be the best mom I can be, I accept her challenge!  ~Well, one good thing, it wont be very hard for me to figure out what to wear, you see I don't have a weeks worth of dresses, I'll just be doing more laundry GREAT!!!! Join us, as this mom and daughter seek to be more feminine.

We hope you enjoy this song by Selah, it is what we like to say "kid tested mother approved" Glorifying to YHVH music!

1 cup margarine or butter
1 3/4 cups Sucanat or brown sugar
4 Large eggs
1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour

Happy Fathers Day!!!

And YHWH spake unto Moses, saying,

Num 6:23 Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them,

24 YHWH bless thee, and keep thee:

25 YHWH make HIS face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:

26 YHWH lift up HIS countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

27 And they shall put MY name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them.

~Lets say thanks to all the great fathers out there today! I love you daddy!!!

Justice's Very Blue Blueberry Pancakes

My son Justice is feeling a little left out of this whole blog thing~ So Autumn and I decided that it would be fun to let him post something weekly! So this is Autumn's little brother Justices' addition for this week(Oh! and I just had to add the funny story behind this picture!)~Mom

So this morning my son Justice(Autumn's little brother) asked if he could make some blueberry pancakes for breakfast? I said sure! I left Autumn to supervise him, and I took our dog buddy for a walk. When I returned home the house smelt wonderful! Justice and Autumn had almost finished and said "look mom we made BLUE pancakes"! I of course thought ,well when you add blueberries, you will have some blue color! But when I looked at them, I realized they were "REALLY BLUE"(or more of a turquoise blue)!! My wonderfully creative children thought adding food coloring would be great fun! I on the other hand, started thinking to myself, I have to eat that! O.K. so they may not look very appetizing, but I confess they really are YUMMY(Oh, the food coloring is optional)!!! Thanks for breakfast guy's!!!!
Love, Mom

Justices Very Blue Blueberry Pancake's
Recipe Ingredients:
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 Tablespoons sugar
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
3 cups buttermilk
4 Tablespoons unsalted softened butter
(plus 1/2 teaspoon for griddle)
1 1/2 cups blueberries
*Optional ~For VERY  BLUE-berry pancakes add 10-20 drops of BLUE food coloring.

1. Whisk together flour, baking powder and soda, salt, and sugar in a large bowl. Add eggs, buttermilk and softened butter; whisk to combine. The batter should have small-to-medium lumps in it.

2. Using a ladle or a very large spoon, pour pancake batter onto pre-heated griddle in pools, spaced 2 inches apart. Evenly sprinkle blueberries over each pancake. When pancakes bubble on top and are slightly dry around the edges (about 2 minutes) turn. Cook until golden on bottom, about 1 minute more. Repeat with remaining batter, keeping cooked pancakes warm on a heat-proof plate in the oven until ready o serve.

Chef Justice

So far on our blog we have posted recipes, mostly because it is something we have in common, and do together. Today we would like to write about "MUSIC".  We all love it!  Right! Usually it is part of our everyday lives, so we naturally have likes and dislikes, it can even influence us in a positive or negative way. It can change our moods, and it can bring back memories. So my question is does it matter what believers listen to?  We think it matters allot! You know the old adage "You are what you eat"  well, wouldn't the same be true of what you listen to and see?

I  recently had a conversation with a mom who asked, what type of music do I let my kids listen to?  Well, I quickly responded, that a standing rule in our home is only Christian music. As we continued our conversation, I realized that, what might have been a good rule years ago, was just no longer good enough! I think we came to the same conclusion, that we may need to look at each song individually even under the label of christian music!
Right about now you may be asking why, what could possibly be so wrong with christian music that we need to do something like this?~ Well, let me explain~ Romans 12:2 says: "Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God."  So with that being said, allot of the lyrics to some of these christian songs, have become just words, having absolutely nothing to do with being a believer. Some or most, of the music sounds like the worlds music, wicked. In fact you may not be able to tell one apart from the other unless you were told.  Lastly, I recently found out that there are two christian music artists that have 'come out' as homosexuals. To say the least I was saddened by this news. But when I realized what an effect music has on our lives, and that our children, teens usually, start to identify with the musicians they listen to, that was when I decided it would be a good idea to write this post. I think as loving parents we should hope to have the kind of relationship with our children, where they value our opinion, and look to us for good council. The way parenting is portrayed in society these days, you would think that there is no hope of this, but Scripture says this about LOVE:
1Cr 13:4 Love suffers long [and] is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;
6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

So, Is there a way to qualify a song as O.K. or NOT?  Of course! Just ask ourselves whether or not it "GLORIFIES OUR HEAVENLY FATHER, YHVH".  I know that seems too simple! But can we really ask ourselves this question enough? Sad, but true we saw the trend of "WHAT WOULD JESUS DO" come and go!  BUT walking with our Messiah is not something that is 'here today and gone tomorrow'! It is a decision we make to turn from our sinful nature and the way the world does things, and walk in righteousness after Y'shuas example!
Just the other day, My husband asked me to choose a C.D.to play,  as I started flipping through the C.D case,  he stopped me and said , put in Lifehouse (a Christian band).  As I was pulling it out of it's sleeve, I said to him, you know, I really don't think this music really has much, if anything in it about walking with our Savior, but I put it in anyway. We listened for about a minute, and he said TAKE IT OUT! Now mind you, we both used to love this band, but now it's just not GOOD enough! This should be a natural reaction, as we grow closer to Y'shua (Jesus), we will find things we once thought were acceptable, are no longer acceptable to our spirit (HIS Spirit in us), and thing will actually become repulsive to us, but that's a good thing! That means that the Holy Spirit is ruling and reigning in our lives and our hearts, and we are separating ourselves farther from what this world has to offer!
I would like to challenge everyone reading this post to pay closer attention to what we listen to, and to even extend it into what we choose to watch and read!
YHVH (GOD ) Bless you!

* Whisk 6-7 eggs with 1 tbsp. of cream, salt and pepper to taste in a bowl, set aside.
* Add two tablespoons butter or olive oil to pan, saute- 1 medium onion, 1/2 diced green and red bell peppers, to desired tenderness over medium heat(or use any variety of in season veggies)

* Then place OVEN SAFE SKILLET under broiler for about 3-5 minutes or until middle is set completely, then carefully remove from oven using oven mitt's, cut into wedges, serve with some or all of these garnish ideas: finely chopped green onions, tomatoes, sour cream, grated cheese and guacamole.

Note: this is a great recipe to switch and change around, depending on what you have on hand. Here are some of the things from our garden we have added: rosemary, basil, squash, broccoli, or try potatoes, with turkey bacon, experiment with it and have fun!
