The No Poo Hair Method

"Have you ever questioned the necessity or wisdom of shampooing your hair on a regular basis? Is your hair dry, damaged, course, limp, frizzy, or all of the above? Then the no poo hair care method may be right for you! Emerging onto the scene of popular beauty culture, the no poo method is a natural way to keep your hair clean, healthy, and beautiful without the use of shampoo or conditioner......."  Here is a link to the rest of the article: http://feelinfeminine.com/?p=5665

Also, if you go on YouTube you can find many videos of other women who use this method. I will be trying this out on my hair starting next week...... I hope my hair doesn't get too oily during the transition! Leave me a comment if you have any questions, I'll be glad to answer them!

-Remove the muffins from pan immediately. Cool on a wire rack.

Serve immediately. If desired, serve with honey.

Just a note, I wouldn’t advise using whole wheat flour to substitute for the white flour in this particular recipe as I tried once, they didn’t turn out as well. Enjoy!!

Swimming

A friend recently commented that she has problems finding modest swimwear for herself and daughters. So this post is to help not only her but, any other female that wants to be modest while she swims. Alot of people might ask what we wear swimming, since modesty is a big thing for us. Well, I (Autumn) wear a 1-piece bathing suit under swimming shorts and a t-shirt.  Mom wears a 1-piece bathing suit under a pair of kapris that come down to her ankles. This is definately not as modest as we would like to be, although I would rather not drown from the weight of something heavier.... Ha ha 8D.

Here is a website I found that sells modest swimwear, they look lightweight and comfortable, and they are cute too! (One of the suits from this site is pictured above)  Click on the link for the cute suits: http://www.modestswimwearsolutions.com/ We hope this post is helpful,  and not to late in the season to be useful!

"Have you ever wondered what a woman during the Revolutionary War might wear if she took a swim in the lake? What would a lady of the Civil War don when preparing for a splash in the water? Official clothes for swimming in haven’t been around for that long, really. Let’s take a look at the history of the garment that has sadly shrunk terribly over the years. Before the 1700′s, it was very common for people to swim in their underclothes. An actual outfit just for swimming in hadn’t been considered yet.
But in the 1700s and early 1800′s, women wore"...... Please click on the following link to read the rest of this post: (It's really good!) http://feelinfeminine.com/?p=4265

~A Poem~

Here is a poem that I thought was really beautiful, I hope you like it too!

"The death of feminism and liberality; the return of femininity and respect.”

The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender.

There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind.

There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined.

We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith.

We have enough greed; we need more goodness.

We have enough vanity; we need more virtue.

We have enough popularity; we need more purity.

-Margaret Nadauld-

~Challenge Wrap Up~

So, some of you may look at The Challenge that Autumn and I just took and say ~"what for?" or "so what"~
The challenge for us really had nothing to do with fashion , instead it was about making a conscious effort to be modest and feminine, because we can see in Scripture Yeshua cares about every aspect of our lives, even what we wear!
So, as  believers in Yeshua the Messiah we believe that Scripture is true, and that we need to do what it says to do, Right! So then,  how should we be Living, Acting,  and Dressing etc...? The Scriptures below show that you are never to young to set an example for others, even teaching others~ let's take a look:

1Ti 4:12 Let no man despise your youth; but be an example to those who believe, in word, in your way of life, in love, in spirit, in faith, and in purity.

1Ti 4:13 Until I come, pay attention to reading, to exhortation, and to teaching.

It is a challenge as young women to set the example of purity in the world today but, you are not walking alone, Yeshua is there to help you every step of the way!

I know that on a constant basis you are bombarded with worldly images of what the world says young men want ~ SOOOOO ~I thought I would add this article written by a young gentleman, to give you a BETTER perspective of what young gentleman want.~(and please take these words to heart)

"Giving Ear To Him: Don’t Be A Snare"

Hey, girls! I hope you’ll hear me out for a second. Do you have any idea how VERY important it is to a man that you dress modestly?

As guys even though we’re Believer we have the desire to see as much of a woman as we can, but that’s the problem! We’re Believers, and we’re desperately striving to hold ourselves to a higher standard. Most girls in our culture are incredibly immodest, and unfortunately many Believing girls just join right in. Immodesty is a plague!

When you wear low-cut tops or short shorts, we interpret that as you care more about yourselves then about causing a brother to stumble spiritually. Do you really think it’s easy for us to concentrate on purity at fellowship when the girls are wearing tops that show their stomach when they raise their hands during worship?

O.K. so lets take the time to think and pray, before putting on an article of clothing that could cause a brother in Yeshua(or any man) to stumble, let's be set apart from this world in ALL things!
Romans 12:2 Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Have a great day!

Day 7 of the Challenge

                                My Outfit:
Mom's Outfit:

Mom's final comment for the week-   I used to wear dresses all the time to work but, now that I am a stay at home mom, it just doesn't seem as practical when I'm scrubbing tubs and digging in the garden. Over all it was a good experience!
My final comment- I think I will wear skirts/dresses all the time once I accumulate a few more. The good thing is, I definitely felt more like a lady in a skirt. :)
Thanks so much for checking back!!!
